OVERVIEW

The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Baguio City is the city’s legislative body, responsible for enacting ordinances, approving resolutions, and creating local policies to ensure effective governance and public welfare.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod, or the City Council of Baguio, serves as the legislative branch of the local government. Presided over by the City Vice Mayor, the council is composed of elected councilors who represent the diverse interests of the city's residents. Its primary mandate is to deliberate on and pass local laws (ordinances) and administrative directives (resolutions) that address a wide range of urban issues, including environmental protection, land use, public health, and social services.
